Núñez-Méndez, Eva In: World Languages and Literatures Faculty Publications and Presentations (2001) Abstract: A lo largo de la historia de la enseñanza de las lenguas extranjeras los errores se han considerado desde diferentes perspectivas: algunas veces se han visto como algo totalmente negativo (como fallos que demostraban la incapacidad del estudiante para expresarse correctamente), otras como la única guía indicativa para examinar el proceso del aprendizaje lingüístico. Desde los años setenta con el método contrastivo hasta el contemporáneo método comunicativo el rumbo de la investigación y corrección de los errores ha cambiado en gran medida. Hasta que Pit Corder publicó “The significance of learners’ errors” en 1967 se pensaba que los errores se producían por las desigualdades entre la L1 y la L2; y que si se comparaban las dos lenguas se podían deducir o predecir los errores que los estudiantes cometerían en el proceso de aprendizaje. Esta teoría de la contrastividad se dejó un poco de lado cuando Corder propuso que no todos los errores que aparecían procedían de la influencia de la lengua materna y que no todos aquellos que se predecían por el AC se daban realmente. A partir de aquí surge el AE (análisis de errores) no contrastivo. En los últimos años el estudio de los errores se ha centrado en la complementación de estos dos análisis teniendo en cuenta también las “estrategias de evasión”, es decir, considerando no sólo los errores que se cometen sino aquellos que los estudiantes evaden deliberadamente, más bien por su dificultad que por ingnorancia.
